CALLING ONTARIO!

A new petition put forward by MPP Bobbi Ann Brady of Haldimand-Norfolk, is calling on the Doug Ford government to take meaningful action to protect lawful firearms owners from the Carney government’s planned confiscation program.
While provinces such as Saskatchewan and Alberta have already taken steps to address enforcement concerns and provide clarity for residents, the government of Premier Doug Ford, despite tough talk, has yet to provide clear answers or concrete protections.
The petition specifically raises concerns about the uncertainty surrounding firearms licence revocations, and the growing confusion facing lawful owners who have complied with existing laws and regulations for years.
Brady argues that Ontario cannot continue to sit on the sidelines while other provinces move to establish clearer positions on the issue.
“Law-abiding firearms owners deserve certainty, fairness, and a government willing to stand up for them,” Brady said.
The petition calls on the Ontario government to direct the Ontario Chief Firearms Office to answer whether firearms licences could be revoked for individuals who do not participate in the federal confiscation initiative. It also urges the province to enact policies similar to those already announced elsewhere in Canada.
We encourage our Ontario members to download, print, sign, and mail a copy to help demonstrate widespread public support for provincial action.
