In ‘Abuse of Governance’, published in the July/August 2026 issue, political commentator Bruce Gold argues that another Liberal term under Mark Carney signals a continued push toward globalist policies, centralized government, and the erosion of Canada’s traditional identity and firearms culture. Gold points out how lawful gun owners have been politically targeted for years, particularly through measures like the 2020 firearms ban, and subsequent farce of a so-called ‘buy-back’ while Canada’s historic ties to hunting, self-reliance, and shared heritage are increasingly downplayed or even dismissed. Gold suggests the Liberals have deliberately distanced Canada from the United States by continuing political attacks against Donald Trump while steering the country toward deeper international entanglements – entanglements that will not be good for freedom-loving Canadians.
