Machine Gun Charity Shoot in Wainwright – Thank You

The National Firearms Association was extremely pleased to be part of the Machine Gun Charity Shoot in Wainwright, hosted by Valour Park in support of the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) Museum and the Loyal Edmonton Regiment Museum.

Our directors Tom Mavin, Dwayne Gorniak and Nathaniel Milljour had the extraordinary opportunity to get behind the triggers of some truly rare and historic fully automatic firearms — genuine war-horses with decades of history behind them.

Opportunities like this are exceedingly rare these days, particularly in Canada, and we were genuinely grateful to be able to take part in such a memorable day while supporting these phenomenal institutions dedicated to preserving our military history.

A huge thank-you to Scott Collacutt and Hans Brink for giving us the rockstar treatment and making the day one we won’t soon forget.

We’d also like to thank Garth Rowswell, MLA for Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright, for joining us at the event, and pulling some triggers himself.

And, most importantly, a heartfelt thank-you to Wainwright Base Commander Lieutenant-Colonel Dustin MacLeod, whose support made this historic event possible.

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to be there and to experience a small piece of Canada’s military firearms heritage firsthand.

We’ve got some video from the day coming shortly, showcasing some of the full-auto mayhem — and we hope to be back next year to lend a hand and do it all over again.

Until then: thank you to everyone who made an unforgettable day possible.
