This event will focus specifically on our Right to possess firearms for self-defence.; We will concentrate on how we can regain the Right to have firearms to defend ourselves.
Our Key Note Speaker is Canadian historian and film producer Dr. John Robson.
Dr. Robson is a highly respected expert in British history. He brings a wealth of background knowledge to our topic having previously produced the documentary Magna Carta, Our Shared Legacy of Liberty.** Professor Robson can tell engaging historical stories that are over a thousand years old, can make them come to life, and can demonstrate their application to our situation today.
We will view Dr. Robson’s recently completed Right to Arms fact-based project that traces our Canadian heritage of the possession of weapons for personal defense back to the English tradition of citizens having weapons readily available. The possession of weapons was not just a personal Right, but also the citizen’s duty to answer the “hue and cry” to protect their neighbourhood.
Professor Gary Mauser will be on hand to remind us that like ‘slowly boiling frogs in water’ the Canadian Government has slowly but relentlessly used licensing firearms owners to strip us of our inalienable Right to have the means to protect ourselves.
