MP Blaine Calkins raised a straightforward but important question about the federal firearms prohibition: what happens to federal employees who are affected by the new “prohibited” classification of previously legal firearms, and could non-compliance carry consequences for their employment or security clearances? 

We know that they know, and they simply do not care.

The question goes to a basic issue of clarity and fairness—when even long-serving, vetted individuals who work for the state are suddenly told their legally acquired property is no longer permitted, what are the professional consequences if they do not immediately comply?

Rather than addressing those implications directly, the responding Liberal parliamentary secretary, Jacques Ramsay, provided a vague, non-responsive answer that relied on procedural language and did not engage with the core question, leaving the central concern unanswered.
