Bill C-71: A Fine Example Of Liberal Logic – Prior to the federal election, the Liberal Party promised to “take assault weapons and handguns off our streets.” In November 2015, upon his appointment as public safety minister, Ralph Goodale was tasked with “repeal(ing) key element of Bill C-42 and implement(ing) our commitment to reduce the number of handguns and assault weapons on our streets.”
